Corral Canyon OHV Trail Work
San Diego Off-Road Coalition

By Alan Klumph

A reminder that we will be looking for volunteer help to do trail work at Corral Canyon in April and May. Please come out and help if you can during one of the times when we will be there working to maintain trails in this popular OHV area. For those of you that have been waiting for an opportunity to volunteer and work on a project where you can see and enjoy the immediate and direct results of your efforts this will be the chance to do it. Mark your calendars for the following activities and we'll see you there.

April 8 & 9, 2000

The first project will take place over the weekend of April 8 and 9 and will involve trimming brush and preparing for tractor work in May. This is actually the continuation of an annual event that will once again be sponsored by Mark Smith. We will be meeting at the Corral Canyon Campground at 8am each day to begin work. Tools will be provided, just come dressed appropriately for the weather and for working out on the trails. All volunteer helpers are invited to join Mark and his wife Patty for hamburgers and all the fixin's for lunch which they will be providing both days. Afterwards, we will go for rides so bring your off-road vehicles for some fun.

If you can help or would like more information regarding the April trail work please contact Mark Smith at home at (619) 479-1074 or during workdays at (619) 422-2949.

May 6 through 20, 2000

The second time period when help will be needed is from May 6th until May 20th including weekdays and the weekends of May 6 & 7 and May 13 & 14. During this time period work will be continuing everyday for those that have time available during the week to help. This work will involve supporting tractor work to restore the trail surface. Any help that you can provide during this period would be appreciated.

If you can help with any of this or want more information then please contact me at home at (619) 561-9139, at work at (858) 658-4346 or via email at ak1@home.com. I look forward to working with you on these very worth while projects that will improve one of the best OHV areas in San Diego county.
