Recreation Advocate

The OutdoorWire family websites feature news and information affecting outdoor recreation opportunities and access to public lands.

Advocating access to public lands carries a responsibility to be part of the solution for managing the public lands.  As a strong proponent for participation to make a difference, I am a full time advocate for recreation and the Managing Editor of the OutdoorWire family websites.

4x4Wire.com is dedicated to the four wheel drive recreation featuring technical articles and information to promote, protect, and provide outdoor recreation opportunities.  4x4Voice.com focuses on California issues. MUIRNet.net is focused on environmental, administrative and legislative news and information. OutdoorWire.com is Access and Landuse Central with an overall index to the contents of the family of websites.

Transformation Team Update - Document Needs a "Recreation" Goal

imageThis Sign Directed OHV Stakeholders to the Transformation Team Public Meeting in Ontario on Aug. 11, 2016

Introduction: I wanted to share my letter/thoughts with OHV stakeholders on the August 2016 Transformation Team Progress Report.  I think it takes steps in the right direction.  However, it needs to more fully incorporate "Recreation" into the soul of the document.  I have included the letter I sent to the Transformation Team today. I  think this report shows a “preservation culture” still exists at DPR.

Arizona Game and Fish wants Sierra Club to retract fundraising letter

Solicitation makes statements "not supported by science"

GRAND CANYON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Game and Fish Department is asking the Sierra Club to retract a fundraising letter that makes false statements about Arizona’s endangered condor population.
