California: DOJ Submits "Assault Weapon" Regulations

Today, December 30th, the California Department of Justice (“DOJ”) submitted proposed regulations on “Bullet-Button Assault Weapons”, as well as AB 857’s serialization/registration requirement. To view the proposed regulations click here.

Like the recently withdrawn magazine regulations, NRA and CRPA attorneys will be reviewing the proposed regulations and providing a detailed analysis in the coming days.

Please continue to check for updates.

Note:  “If the firearm has been modified or reconfigured to no longer meet the definition of assault weapon, one or more photographs clearly depicting the firearm in its current configuration shall be attached to the written de-registration request. Additional information, photographs, or inspection may be requested by the Department before determining eligibility for de-registration".
