Well it looks like you need the valve cover gasket now, all you needed to do was remove the plastic cover in the center of the valve cover, remove the two coils and wires and with a long extension you can get to the spark plugs. When you replace your valve cover just don't overtighten the bolts or you could create leeks.
I have had good luck with the Bosch plugs in my Kia, I tried Denso's once and lost power from my 60,000 miles Bosch. When I rebuilt my engine I tried the E3 diamond fire plugs and so far I realy like them.
