Ok, I know many years ago this question was answered, but at the time, I paid no attention because I either had manual hubs already, my Sportage wasn't a vacuum hub equipped model, or I had the straight axle already. Now I have a vacuum hub model and I just got a set of manual hubs. Gonna swap them tomorrow night and my big question is - how do I completely and permanently remove all traces of the vacuum hub equipment? I don't want it unplugged, I want it gone. Can I seal where the hose originally attached to the spindle? Can I plug the vacuum port from the intake (I'm assuming that's where it takes vacuum from)? Can I totally remove the actuator? Etc. I have worked on my old Sportage extensively, but, as mentioned, never experienced vacuum hubs. Thanks.
