OK! 96 and onward (North American models) was OBDII with the connector under the drivers side knee airbag, very visiable

However you might have a OBDI car, not sure about the land of OZ but other areas of the world didn't switch to OBDII till as late as 2002

If so there is a data port in the engine bay, you can use a jumper wire between to connectors and have the comp 'flash' the code via the CEL.
