My OBD connector is definitely not that obvious. I have a diagnostics port in the engine bay near the battery, does mean my vehicle is definitely OBDI?

If so then using the pinning info on this site: I just tried to read the codes out: nothing. But this site says you need to start and run the vehicle for 3 minutes which is going to be tricky considering it won't start at all.

Any advice on whether this vehicle is OBD1 or 2 and from there where the connector might be or how I read the fault codes from an OBD1 vehicle without starting it???

There isn't any plate or sticker under the bonnet that says OBDII but I don't know if this was a requirement outside of the US.
