I'm not dead sure, but I call the shaft you call a pinion shaft a side gear shaft.

Eddy, Mitsubishi calls it a "pinion shaft" - maybe because it centers the 2 pinion gears.... Aussie Locker calls it a "cross shaft"..... Damfino what it is, so I just called it what they did.
