Looking at the photos I see a differance in the taper used to compress the snap ring between the OEM gear and the piece you are replacing it with.

From what I can see in the photos the factory part has a much better leading in to compress the snap ring.

Base on that the locker needs a bit more of a hit and possible some molly assembly lube to lower the friction.
