I had a chance to give the front locker a good workout on sand, gravel and smooth concrete yesterday. It works great!

Steering effort is minimal with a stronger center return. I heard no ratcheting sounds, but I could feel the result as a driveline vibration in a fast turn. The tires will chirp on smooth concrete as it ratchets.

While the effort to counter center return is higher than when the front is free-wheeling, it's not too much. My sense is that anyone should be able to engage the locker and both hubs and drive it all day like that on loose stuff with no complaints. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
