Need a Spot

Well, I'm new here, just registered in the website a few days ago. Maybe there are other new member as well, that we could call the new generation! Who knows, maybe some new members will ignite the website again.
The information in here is great, you guys have done a great job. I bought a 97 Sportage back in November 2009 and did a few mods using this website and Everet's advices as guides (thanks Everet!). I put a 3.5" upyourkia lift and now I want a body lift to be able to rum on 31' tires. And, I'm gonna need help with the body lift. I found an existing thread and will post some questions and pictures. I hope you guys can help me out.
1997 Sportage, automatic, 3.5" upyourkia lift, 225 75 15R. Coming up: body lift, 15x8 wheels, 31 10.50 15R tires.

Computer died lon? What specifically? I'm a 1/2 way computer tech. Will is having me try to repair one of the shop monitors that crapped out. It needs a capacitor. When I order it, i'll solder it in place of the blown one and see if the monitor fires up. Anyway, Anyway, I got that Sheree's 95 Sportage up and running!! Remember how her keyway broke and the sprocket spun on the crank? Her keyway was gone and the crank was a little torn up around the keyway cutout. I got a .60cent keyway from Napa for free, but I still gave them .50 in the pennies cup, machined it down to fit as it was too tall to squeeze between the crank and sprocket. I filled the keyway cavity with JB weld, pressed the keyway into the cavity, slid the sprocket over it, and cranked on the front crank sprocket bolt. Set the Timing belt OE spec. Sputtered for a sec and FIRED UP! whew whoo! Too bad I didn't own this one like I could've for only a few hundred. It only has like 132,000mi, A/C, A/T, 4WD, great interior and just aged paint on the ext.. Anyway, I'll assemble the rest tomorrow after work and drive it to/from work the rest of the week to make sure it runs good. Then I'll give it back to it's owner. They will be soooo happy! It has a sticky lifter noise, but I think it's just an empty HLA that needs to fill with oil as it hasn't been ran for a few weeks/months.

Good job, when I rebuilt my engine it took a few hundred miles for the HLAs to quiet down so they should be ok after a while. Hope she like your hard work and her husband become's a Kia believer.

Getting the Wheeling Fever

Hi..I check in from time to time. I sold the cherokee for money to fund my autocross habit. I love the sporty better. I have the springs n new shocks, just have to get the spacers. Maybe soon..something always comes up to stop my order.. Hope everyone had a great summer! I did find a 08 sorento. trying to talk my gf into tradeing her grand cherokee in for it.. hopefully.

I hear ya. I too need the front spacers. Have a power tuner I'm selling to a co-worker and I'm waiting on that $200 to pass on to everett . Good news though, I had bought a set of rear jeep JK springs that I thought I could use and maybe still could, but to be sure I decided to buy a set of used rear TJ's.. but finding them isn't always easy.. Well, I found a guy who has a complete set of TJ springs for $60. I told him my story that I had a set of rear JK's and offered that plus cash to trade.. he agreed to $20 + my JK's tonight!! Happy timez. And he may have another set or rear TJ's if anyone's interested! but I think he's only making this deal cause he also had a spare pair or TJ rears.. He has a complete TJ set he advertised that he wanted $60 for.. That's still not bad.. Buy 'em for $60 and sell the fronts for $10-20 whatever.. Make your kids their very own bobble-horse.. ya know like the one's at the park with the spring on em..
