John, I'm looking forward to being down there, and on real shore duty. I should have time to actually see/do some stuff.
Chris, I've heard about that. We're looking to live in Vista, Carlsbad, or the Poway area. It'll be a commute for me, but I'll just get a bike and all will be good. Besides, we hope to get follow on duty on the ships in San Diego, so this move will make sense.

Good! Keep your kids out of that valley or they will have respiratory problems. My mom has never smoked anything in her life and when she lived there she coughed constantly. All the crap from LA and Orange county rolls into that Valley and just sits. A motorcycle is crucial for getting anywhere on those freeways (parking lots) down there. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Welcome to Riverside!! I personally like it here. I have lived in various places around So. Cal and I have always called Riverside home. There is pollution everywhere in So. Cal, cant escape it. Standard byproduct of society these days. Anywho, welcome! Oh, I am also getting a bike in the near future. Not a dual-sport though. Likely a Ninja 650R or ZX6R. You get lots of authority to fix things and the fun of the position, but when the sh!t hits the fan, the Captain goes under the bus. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> On a serious note, I'm truly looking forward to the challenge of the job and the opportunity to learn. Thanks to you to, Riverside guy! I'll have to look you up when I get down that way. I'll be there by myself for a while, so I fully intend to take advantage of some wheeling opportunity that that will present. John, you'll have to fill me in on some of the desert fun.
