Here is an older turbo diesel conversion. It costs as much as a new one though!

Ummmm, $15k for a Gen I turbodiesel conversion (admittedly very clean) or $9800 for a Gen II Pajero Evo? Even with potential registration issues its still a no-brainer.

For $1500-3k you can buy a 2.8TD engine and trans from JDM. Which I plan on doing eventually, just gotta figure out a few things before hand. Like getting the money before spending it on other useless junk. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

It sure would be nice if we could get together and bring back imports of the Montero to the states. You cant even find one around these parts used,I had to settle for a Subaru recently.

I've noticed quite a few cars tricking down from canada into washington and somehow getting licensed.

A lot of states are starting to let people register kei trucks now also.

The guy I had bought my sr locker from said he had just sold a swb turbo diesel I thikn it had a 4d56 or something, and if I remember he said it was locked. Sounded like a nice rig. I wonder if that one was it. I never saw the ad.
