Picked up a Parts Sporty #1022212 03/05/11 03:51 AM

Well we just picked up a parts Sporty. Parts are so expensive around here from dealer or wrecker. Only problem with wreckers is that there is very few if any Sportys available.
We found this one on Craigslist for very cheap!
This one is 2001 EX model. Ours is the base I think. Only difference is the parts one is automatic. She likes that part, I don't.

Picked it up for $800.00. Everything works. Regular maintenance has been kept up on this vehicle. It actually drives well. Has about 184,000 on it.
Gonna take it out this weekend, gonna take them both out. Our own Sporty parade...lol

Like check out them tires and wheels...good lord...90% tread on the BFG's. Only thing is...they are 215's....not 235's. Oh well, I think I can live with that.
I finally have fender flares!
One brand new headlight...lol. What a difference.
So many extra parts now.

I put the 235's back on for bush wackin this weekend, they have been on our F-150. I also put the rack back on.

Since I need a 235 spare I put one from the truck on it and one from the Kia on the truck. Took some pics. Pass

The rear end has been redone. He had the receipt for it, I did grab it, just have to find it. I'll get back on this.

Well I found the receipt for the rear end work the guy had done on the ex.
Bert's Automotive Transmission put in a "Good Used Rear Differential Third Member". That's how it is written on the bill.
This was done back in 2007 and it sat for 2 years. The whole bill was over $1200.00.
How do I find out again. I will do a search.

Body Damage is Cool
Put the rear end up on jack stands, put the transfer case in Neutral and spin the rear wheel on one side. If they both spin in the same direction then you have the LSD. If one spins in the opposite direction it is an open diff.

In the 2000 and newer EX the LSD was stock in the states. In the base model it was still an option.

For a parts vehicle, this is really nice!

I had the 215 BFG ATs on mine for a while and I really liked them. I put on the Eibach lift either right before or right after and over time I wish I would have stepped up to the 235s. But, at the time the cost was out of my reach and I needed tires really bad. This size also didn't affect my mileage or power.

The tires alone are worth the $800 you paid.
