I need this to make the speedometer to work
http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/p...prod/prd126.htm

They just came out with a gps unit that sounds pretty awsome but the price is about $100 more.
http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/p...prod/prd837.htm

SO pick either one lloyd and i'll get it in, if you want the speedo to read correct when in low range the gps version will be the way to go reason being is i can't get the speedo pulse signal off the transfer cause since its a jk t\case it doesn't have a speedo gear so i have to get the signal from the transmission tail shaft before the t\case so high range will be fine but in low its gonna read very fast.

GPS is neat and all but why does it matter what your speedo says in 4L ?

I don't care what mine says in 4 Low or 4 low low, i like it more for the ability to run what ever tire and gear ratio i want without recalibrating my speedo. So if i were to get some skinny A/T 33's for the street and 37's for fo' wheeling it would be cool.

darn right toasty if you want you can ditch the mitsu compass and hook one of their compass gauges and not have to drive around in circles to get it to work, to bad they don't have a separate gauge for the altimeter function yet.

I actually do like to know my speed in 4 Low, gives me an idea how much ground we are covering and whether we will make my ideal camp spot.(usually not <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />) GPS Unit can do that as well, but may not be as consistantly convenient. Regardless speedo would have been off with 37's by a long shot. I think my rig has the Altimeter <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

It is amazing all the cool gizmos cars have now that would be so handy off-road, average speed, fuel economy, distance to empty......Not sure about automatic brakes when something is too close though <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Crown King would be a good test for Gears, Cooling, Rattles, Flex Issues.....With out scratching my rig <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> Not sure if you want to wait for gears and front locker install, or test everything on the rolling chasis so far? Proably should get the other skids on as well.

Are we about ready to start a checklist of some sort? Once gears/ locker are in we should plan a pick up weekend to do a real shakedown and work on any loose ends.

Doing a shake down before hand would be good just to make sure of how it rides handles before we do gearing. As far as a check list, we should start getting an idea of what we need to get done before it sets sail. I still have the spacers in a box here but that will be last. It won't fit in my garage if we put those on <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.

In regards to the GPS speedometer... Well sometimes it might be difficult to get enough satellites to give an accurate reading, GPS always has a margin of error regardless of device. So it probably won't be accurate all the time I am sure.

But its an awesome adaptation for sure <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
