Hi all, I have been enquirying about a front diff lock for my Sporty through Kaiser a company based in Brazil. They make a front automatic difflock for the Kia Sportage. They have none in stock at the moment and would like a bulk order for at least 10 to put a run through the machinery. Who is interested in purchasing a front locker? Please pas this on to all the Sporty owners you know who would be interested in buying one. Please see below for details of my second enquiry with this company, price, contact details and links to their website. Hi Chris, Thanks for your contact and follow up. Frankly, we havent receive much inquiries for this locker and thats why we havent manufactured a new batch yet. What we can do is try to gather pre orders of at least 10 lockers in order to produce a minimum batch. Do you think you can gather more people interested in this locker in forums etc? Retail price = USD 740 + USD 130 for shipping by UPS. Please let me know your thoughts. Hi all,
recieved another reply from Kaiser.
Is any anyone able to assist with confirming measurements for the front locker on the Australian model Sportage? Damkia?
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the message you have posted at the Kia forum below. We have done something similar regarding the front locker for Daihatsu Feroza and we are already producing a new batch for this application, so I really think this will be also possible with Sportage locker.
Please find attached CAD drawing for the FRONT locker of Sportage up to 2004 with 26 splines, 10 ring gear bolts and a axle shaft with diameter of 27,4 mm for you to compare and confirm such application on Australian model.
Looking forward to receive your feedback. If you prefer, you can also fill out the specs attached with measures of your original satellite box.
Best regards, Vittorio Frioli
I can not work out how to attach the PDF file and EXCEL Work sheet. Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this?
Cheers, Chris

Use SnagIt or a similar program and make a jpg file from them. I think you can get a free or restricted copy from CNET. (I can't get to their download site from work or I'd post a link)

Hi all,
I have sent another email off to Vittorio today as I would still like a front difflock. My enquiries have established that the specifications should be the same.
Is there not any other interest at all for a front difflock. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Price retail is $740 US + shipping
Shipping quote to Australia was $130 US so should be a lot cheaper to have the unit shipped to the US/Canada We need a minimum preorder of 10 units to make it viable for Kaiser to change the machinery to run off a minimum batch of lockers.
Do we have any one at all also interested in a front locker.

Hi all, Recieved a reply from Vittorio tonight. I am going to go ahead and purchase one. Yiou could have a difflock for the front by November if you are keen. Message below. cheers, Chris Hello Chris, Thanks for your email, what you are saying about the front diff. makes sense, some factories usually change ratio according to the geographical need of each region/ country. Since we already have this project ready, we can program to produce a lot of 5 lockers which would be ready by mid/ end October. Please find attached Proforma Invoice for your analysis and confirmation and kindly check if your address is correct. It would be great if we could gather other people interested from Kia forum. Do you have free wheel hubs at the front axle of your Sportage? It is important to have either an automatic free wheel hub or manual. We remain at your disposal and looking forward to receive your reply in order to start production. So the Diff locker from Kaiser is a 26 Spline model. This locker should fit the front of all 1st Gen Sportages and the rear of those models with 26 Splines also.

Chris, have you tried searching for the Eaton Posi Lock?
search eBay for Eaton 19519 which is available ex the US and is only a fraction more than the money you are talking...
Worth a look anyway!

The Eaton Posi Lock is not a full locker. It's the LSD that was offered as an option from the KIA factory. The Kaiser I think is a full locker.

Hi Chris,
I am also interested in getting the Kaiser Differential for my Kia. As I live in Romania (Europe), it would make more sense to me to deal directly with Vitorrio Frioli from the Kaiser company, in Brazil. Do you mind if (when contacting Vitorrio) I mention that I have his address from you?
Many thanks,
Bogdan

No problems.
Hopefully they should be getting close to completing the batch.
Cheers, Chris
