Seriously though, looked like lots of fun. Reminds me of the Mohave road trip we did in the snow a few Decembers ago with Dirtdriver. I miss the desert already. The snow and muck can make an "Easy" trail a lot more tricky. Good to see the gen 3 out there..How did it do? Did it have the hybrid LSD?

Yeah the snow and mud added unexpected pucker factor when coupled with off camber trails. The all terrain tires everyone but myself had also ratcheted up the challenge. Even my mud terrains were challenged in many spots. The Gen III was stock except for the aftermarket tires & yes Justice it did have the hybrid LSD. Alex Kogan mentioned in the CA/NV trip thread that it was nice to see the Hybrid LSD in action but I'm not sure what part of the video he was referring to. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

It looked like a lot of fun. I am surprised how little flex the G-Wagen had. It seemed like the Gen III Montero did a better job keeping its wheels on the ground.

Purely IMHO but storming that first major rut is one good example, from like 5:10 in video. Generally wheel spin is very even between both wheels. Even when it get stuck in a rut 5:20 on attempts to go forward are in vain, left front wheel obviously spins but lower right does receive some momentum although with open diff usually top bank wheel would be just spinning. Then again on successful negotiation of that rut/hill both wheels spin pretty much the same speed.
BTW Bruno/others keep away from vehicles in 99% of cases human weight/strength won't make any difference if 5000lb vehicle starts to slide, tip, roll etc. Yet if person ends up on receiving side one can get hurt really bad. Stay off low side. You slip, it moves, broken leg, end of fun for everyone. Safety first.
