The class is a two-day class with the test on the second day. The class will be in April.

Great. Good to see more joining the ranks. I saw a note somewhere during the past month where there is a growth in the number of licensed amateur radio operators and a lot of the growth is attributed to an increase in use by the 4x4 recreation community.

A number of us from my 4X4 club have converted, or are converting to Ham. Saturday was a great convergence of two opportunities to drop cash - a Ham swap meet and the largest 4X4 swap meet in the state of Washington. Five of us were able to negotiate a package deal on radios. All but one of us picked up Yaesu 1900s.
I bought two - one for the rig and one for the tow vehicle.

No, I have a class in April, and the test at the same time.

Great news. I am partial to Yeasu equipment. I have 4 Yeasu rigs (1 is handheld) and all work well as long as I keep from destroying antennas.

Jim, glad to hear of the upcoming upgrade! This is great news. I doubt you'll need it but I'll still wish you luck on the test.

Took (and passed) the Technician exam yesterday. Now nearly all of the regular wheelers in our club are DXers.
I originally had intended to take the class, but we are running out of time to get the YJ ready for Moab. I prepped by just taking the practice tests on QRZ.com over and over.
I started taking the practice tests for my General today.

I started taking the practice tests for my General today. That's how I did it as well. Congrats!! Update us with your callsign when you get it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
