After 40k miles without an oil change, sunk in a pond, dry rotting parts from caked mud, tree trunks through windows, less coolant than required, etc...Poor thing finally gave up. Not sure exactly what put the nail in the coffin yet but it sounds like its low on compression in about 3 cylinders and wont start. Love this truck, it did so much good work for me over the past 3 years and I only paid $750 for it.
I found the replacement already. Another Montero of course. Going to pick it up this weekend...unless of course Scott will sell me his pretty blue SR instead.hint hint. I promise I will take better care of it!
I'll post pics of the carnage and replacement soon. I'll likely be parting out the GEN2. I considered using this for the twin turbo project but it is really beat and rust has penetrated around the windshield. Poor thing is just not worth it

FL has disposiable income just look at there housing market They can afford to trash their vehicles and not take care on anything they own. Its a badge of honor.

I bought the truck for $750 the day it was headed to the junkyard. That was 2.5 years and 40k miles ago. I'd say I did it a favor and it returned the favor.
