hey guys.
A friend of mine had a problem with is sporty - on serious acceleration it was lacking in power. everything was checked - sensors - catalitic converter - all were fine. finally he noticed that as the years pass - the lining on the inner part of the hood tends to sag and block the air intake. 10 minutes later and one pair of scissors - the sporty was back on its feet!
2001 sporty. 4 inch lift+ body lift-front lovlells coils+extended forks. reat tj. monroe shocks. full skid plate, auxilary fan. external oil cooler. maxxis 8060 235/75 R15 tires on american racing wheels. trackfinder rear diff lock. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3948684/2001-kia-sportage

I'll have to check mine. I know it's sagging enough that it is rubbing on the plastic engine cover.

That was one of the first things to go when I got mine. It looks a lot cleaner that way...

1996 Dodge 1500 single cab / short bed, 5.9 4x4; 2" lift (springs not blocks), C.A.I and more mods to come.

It gets sub zero in the winter where I live. So I have to retain mine to aid with keeping the lil 4-banger up to temp. Good write up though.
