Hello I'm new here but old with the sportage. I have a 1996 a/t 2.0 Rear tf locker Front welded 5" lift in back 2" front eibach springs with 2" spacer Front diff lowerd 2" 235x75 r15 maxxis 8060 External gear cooler
My question is like this.. I'm thinking of a engine swap I received a vr6 from a friend and I'm thinking of swapping it with the sportage old engine! Can any one tell me if there Is a way of connecting the sportage gear box to the vr6 casing??

How much duct tape do you have?
jk, no, there's no way to connect those. Unless you make an intermediate shaft or can machine an adapter plate...

1996 Dodge 1500 single cab / short bed, 5.9 4x4; 2" lift (springs not blocks), C.A.I and more mods to come.

Well, 1 guy cut the mounting piece of the transmission off the sportage and cut and welded a piece off the mating part of a transmission that mated to the "new" motor on to the trans. This worked because he measured and did it correctly. Think it was a diesel Sportage to 2.8 GM 6 cyl. Or, some type of CUSTOM, 1 off adapter plate should work. ON ANOTHER NOTE... PLEASE SEND PICS OF YOUR DROPPED FRONT AXLE. I AM LOOKING AT DOING THIS AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE HOW YOURS LOOKS. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
