As most of you know before I sold my Sportage I removed my rear TJ springs, I was saving them for a 2 door Sportage project with my son down the road. I don't need the TJ springs anymore so I was wondering if anyone here needs a set, I'm not sure the numbers but they came off a hard top TJ and gave my Sportage about 3.5 to 4 inches of lift. PM me if interested, $50.00 plus shipping.

That's what I am running in my 2 door, and they are WAY too stiff! Weird part is, is that I am running stock shocks. With the '99 Rav4 shocks, there was a 1.5 gap between the spring and the bucket when decompressed...

1996 Dodge 1500 single cab / short bed, 5.9 4x4; 2" lift (springs not blocks), C.A.I and more mods to come.

With the right shocks they rode good on my 4 door. I ran Procomp shocks for a while and it felt like a 1 ton truck, went to Tera Flex shocks and it rode great. I got some 4" Zone springs for my TJ so I have have the springs coming out of my Jeep when my boy ever gets a 2 door.

I finally have my rear suspension dialed-in, after adding dual batteries, the steel bumper with tire mount... and a cargo rack with 2 gas cans. I had to upgrade the shocks to a set of ProComps that fit the front of a Ford F-series truck and a set of aftermarket Rubicon springs (106AA equivalents, I suspect). The ride is still a little softer than the stock Sporty with 105AAs. But I like it better this way. I guess that just goes to show the range of mods one can do to tune the ride, even when loaded with extra mass in the <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

Here's 2 photos of the Sporty's stock rear coil spring, the 105AA and the Rubicon spring I'm running now. The difference is fairly apparent...

I got a set of springs in mine that I know came out of a Rubicon from when the guy that gave them to me lifted his. (got lucky and it was a "Get them out of my shed and they are yours" kind of deal, he also has some 104AA sitting there). And they are orange tag 105AA just like the center one's in the pic.
Thinking it's more to do with body configuration (soft top, hard top, 4 door ultimate) rather than Rubicon or not regarding what springs came in what. I forget what his was. Hard top I think, but he has a soft top on it now.

With the Rav4 shocks mine rides pretty stiff in the rear. But I load it down quite a bit on some of my longer camping trips. So it's good. smile


But uh......

I'm running the same 105AA springs with the Rav4 springs and my rear is so soft! There is so much lean that I think I need to install a sway bar. Gone through two sets of rear shocks and thinking of trying some new ones or different springs and new shocks too.
