I am going to look at an 05 Montero Limited this weekend and I was wondering if anyone has done anything to theirs? It will be the family/wife mobile but I still want to add on to it if possible. I am still looking for a gen II or II.5 that's not rusted too. The Gen III is dark green and my wife likes it over a van so that's working for me, but they're asking 11 Gs for it so hopefully the maintenance has been done.
You can call me Fez '95 SR 15x8 steel rims w/ 33x12.5 Duratracs, cranked torsion bars, "Baja" lights '09 Nissan Sentra SR

Posting pics of your GenIII winching over obstacles is probably not the best way to prove it's off-road capabilities.

They are Ok but not 1/2 as good as the Gen2 or 2.5 offroad, I have both, they are better suited to touring, IMO

Still was a really fun trail and will do it again when I get a chance. I dont have anythin to prove as far as where i have been with my gen 3....as many saw a few years back i was pretty detailed with my trip pics....lol.....they are a great vehicle and VERY under-estimated as far as their capabilities imo.

I never had any probs hangin with the SA jeeps and cherokees tho when i was on rides. ....i just slid a little more on the skid plates goin over obstacles than they did..lol
