Has anyone ever tried to put an electronic speedometer in the Gen I? I am thinking about replacing all my gauges with GlowShift ones but not clear on how to convert from a cable driven speedo to a electronic.

I think all I need is this but not sure. Speedometer pulse generator

I think what you need to figure out is how you mate it with the mechanical drive of your speedo on the transfer case and where you can mount it reliably keeping in mind if it's outside or in the engine bay it will be exposed to the elements & will probably get wet, etc.

I am thinking that I can mount it under the dash, run the speedo cable to the sender unit and then wire the gauge from there.

How big is the box? There's definitely some room in the dash for it depending on it's size.

It looks fairly small. There is a link in my original post and you can see the install instructions also.

Hahaha nice idea! Do you have one?
This one I could even see what my 1/4 mile and 0-60 time is! Although, I probably don't want to know judging by how many people tail gate and flip me off!
