Probably not needed. The stock radiator has plenty of cooling capacity, even for the 2.6 turbo motor with an a/t that's known for producing a lot of heat. You can recore a v6 two row radiator with a 2.6 3 row core and never worry about it again, probably cheaper than an AL rad...

I must beat on my trucks extra hard then. I have over heated the turbo 2.6 a few times. I have even did the stock 2.6 as well. I have over heated my 3.0 once towing. Brother has a HUGE AL 3.5 in radiator in his turbo 2.6. Should have it up a running in the spring. I plan on putting a turbo on the montero 3.0 some time I have one side of the manifold all made up for the turbo now. I am hoping to get the other manifold all done this spring. I think at the very least tho I guess I could put 3 core in the v6 radiator. I was hoping to find a AL Rad that some one was able to buy off the shelf and mod it to fit in the montero.

Or you have a problem with you're cooling system or something else that's producing excessive heat. As FE said the OEM setup when in good condition is usually sufficient even for a turbo engine with an automatic transmission.

If you have overheating problems on either a two or three row, you probably need to have the core rodded out. OR, you have a head gssket leak...

I am not most people drag racing and towing loads over what I should and at all most WOT. I flat out abuse my rides. I have a new Rad in all 3 monteros I have had, I did. On the Turbo 2.6 most would be fine I have run 20psi and used them to the max and maybe a bit more as well.

I had a Northern Ford/Mopar radiator modded to work in my gen 2, the radiator shop installed a 90 degree outlet on the lower.

It was something like this, almost the same size as the stock radiator except dual pass aluminum and higher capacity. working pretty good so far.
Something like this Northern Radiator they come in various configuration for which side the outlets are on.

Most custom shops can add a 3rd row, works like a charm. Pushing big tires and boulders at altitude = over heating. Also wire up the up A/C fan so you can turn it on manually.

I towed an 843 Bobcat behind a swb 2.6T a/t in hilly country, long grades, 100*F heat, with no problems with overheating on a new 3row stock radiator. Some of the grades were so steep I had to downshift to 4lo to pull them, even with 200+hp, 200+ torque. Heavy, heavy mofo tractor and trailer. I consider that about as hard as you can abuse a 2.6 and have the truck survive.
