As noted in the headlines....

This week marks the 50th anniversary of Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty," and as the joke goes, "Poverty won." Five decades after a blizzard of programs began descending on the American people, the poverty rate remains essentially unchanged.

As in all wars theres always war profiteers ...Those who clamored to help (throw money at the poor) sucked off big chunks of money off the top.. Big chunks of the poor dont want to change sorry to say .

Poor LBJ ... I think he really wanted to do good ... He gave up and did not rerun for president <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

You have to realize that the war on poverty took a back burner to the War on Drugs. There will never be justice or humanity, when the CIA is caught red handed bringing cocaine into the US. Meanwhile people are arrested for smoking pot, a drug that has never killed one person. Do you know two of the biggest supporters of The partnership for a drug free America are the cigaret and alcohol companies. It's just all lies, and you just need to follow the money.

The "War on Poverty" is being re-packaged as "Income Equality".

Yes, follow the money. It is all about money and government policy is loaded with excess $$$$ that never reaches its intended target.

Affordable Health Care is creating a morass of expending costs that make it unaffordable even with the overly generous subsidies.

Trying to sort through the news reports indicates that more people have LOST health care (insurance) than have received insurance.

Don't even get me started on Obama Care. Man I wish I could develop a product, or service then lobby congress, and get a law pasted that everyone has to buy said product or service!

For the Supreme Court to say its a tax (and constitional) is just ridiculous!
Really free country when your required to buy something against your will, from a private company!
