It's been an awesome truck for duck hunting so far. It is not fond of those cold mornings though!

Nice! How do you fix 'em for dinner?

Friend of mine and I have been talking about a fall hunt for ducks/geese. Never tried it before.

Marinaded in balsamic vinegar, wrapped in Bacon and Broiled. Shooting things that are flying is not easy at all.

Thanks for that, and no worries....

Sometimes it's more about being out there than it is about being successful. The latter is the bonus. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hardly. No drama and no coyotes. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cyclops.gif" alt="" />

No cougars either, Kew...

We used to waterfowl hunt on the flyway around Decatur, AL. My shoulder is still sore, 40 years later, from shooting a 10ga goose gun with 36" barrels. I still remember my father shooting doubles with a Model 12 Winchester pump, never releasing the trigger, because the 12 didn't have a sear disconnect and would fire every time the slide hit the front stop.

I had the same experience with duch as I did with dove. I hit the first one I ever shot at, both shots almost dead overhead and very high (I went over on my butt on the mallard, 12ga vs 20ga), and then burned up at least 4 boxes of shells before I ever pulled another feather. Doves and duchs are FAST, and you won't believe the amount of lead you need...

My scariest hunting incident ever was in a duck blind when a guy's 12ga Browing automatic went full auto on him, and he didn't have the sportsman's plug in it. The edge of one shot hit the bill of my cap and spun it around into gangsta on my head. There is nothing colder than riding out to the blind in an aluminum boat in 25* water and 20mph wind in the dark, spray flying over the gunnels...

Truth. One of the coldest days I remember is when me, my father, grandfather, and my bro were going fishing one morning in Point-a-la-Hache LA. It was 18 degrees. We were in a 14 foot aluminum flat boat. We caught a boat load of speckle trout that day.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

When I first saw the title, I was expecting a pic of a dead dear stuck in your bumper. Figured you went "that" kind of hunting.

Funny how when your not looking to kill something it ends up right in front of you but when your out there looking for it intentionally its easier said than done.

88 Montero, StarQuest turbo, Kormex 5speed +tuff-pan w/phoenix f. stage2 clutch, 4in lift+33' tires, 4.875 lsd, short-throw shifter, Aisin hubs, SR big brakes, gen2 uca's, elantra alt, and so much more... 16g turbo w/hardpipes + 4.90 locking disk-brake axle soon (maybe lsd or aussie front??)
