Its ads like that that bother me. I spend all this time and money seapping a 2.6 turbo into my rustbucket. I'm in over my head financially. Prob in the 5 grand mark total. Plus its all used parts and proving to be an unreliable hack.
Yet for 2500 I could have bought that. Or the landraider just sold too. Never doing my own swaps and mods again. Next time just going to sit and wait for something like this.
88 Montero, StarQuest turbo, Kormex 5speed +tuff-pan w/phoenix f. stage2 clutch, 4in lift+33' tires, 4.875 lsd, short-throw shifter, Aisin hubs, SR big brakes, gen2 uca's, elantra alt, and so much more... 16g turbo w/hardpipes + 4.90 locking disk-brake axle soon (maybe lsd or aussie front??)

But at the end of the day you can say you did 100% of your own work and know the difference between a Wrangler AT/S and an MT/R, as this seller does not. We live in the Jeep capital of the country and have some very nice shops to support this, but all too often we run into the "credit card wheelers". These are the guys who drop their rig off at one of these shops and pick it up $20k later. You see them on the trail and are clueless when you ask them questions about their build, and some end up not even being able to afford hitting the trails because they are in debt up their ears for a rig they didn't even build. The end result is that they end up having to sell it, this makes it great for the next guy who saves a ton on what someone else already had built. I personally have never used these shops for anything, only things I cannot do mechanically are rebuilding automatic transmissions or set up gears but have a friend who can.

I don't wheel as much as i'd like, but i certainly build my own trucks. Had i payed to have my trucks built i'd be in massive debt and probably homeless. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

looks like a nice little rig and at $2500 it wont last long, but i'd rather build and fix my own rig than figure out someone else's work. sure it's more expensive but doing so led me to the wire where i improved my skills and made some friends.
if not my gen 1, i'm sure that something else a lot less fun would pop up to spend my money. and would probably get me into more trouble.

That sounds good and all, but when a deal like this comes along If'n you got it, you are a fool not to jump on it. I bought the LandRaider because of what's in it. I can't build something for what i got it for.

no doubt about it. for $2500 it's a steal. but at the original $4500 I would rather do my own thing.
