Hey guys, I'm looking into ordering a tow hitch for my raider, I see they make a class I plate style hitch as well as a class II that's a different style. I'll be towing a motorcycle trailer with only one motorcycle on it, as well as a boat trailer with only a 15' fiberglass boat on it. Which class hitch would be more appropriate?

What year Raider? The simple Class I hitch will only be rated for 1,000 pounds. Class II is a higher rating. Link to another 4x4Wire thread with good technical discussion and pics: 4x4Wire Thread

I have the same one Russ has, from a 4-door truck . It works excellently. I had to fab up some extension pieces for where the outer attaches, but it works 100% better than all those others. If'n you can find one off of a 4-door I highly recommend it.

The hitch I settled on is a 4-door hitch that is welded on, took a bit of trimming for the wings...but all worked out well.

I have used a Curt 4-bolt hitch that just bolts up to the factory bolt holes to pull a pretty big pop-up camper up into the mountains and down dirt roads for camping, as well as pulling a dual-axle trailer with a bunch of furniture on it for a couple of hundred miles with no issues. The pop-up was heavy enough to warrant the use of a trailer brake control, which I really liked, but you do have to have a 7-wire connection and the appropriate interior wiring and a brake controller for that.
And yes, I know, I probably shouldn't be doing these things with such a light duty hitch, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there.

I have a 4-bolt on my 89 SWB. I normally pull a purpose built (camping) 4X8 trailer with electric brakes. No problems. I have towed lots more (very carefully).
I had a bolt on stage 3 for the LWB. It disappeared while I was living out of the country. It looked like it would install easily with a little angle grinder modification.
I had a Gen2 SWB (heavier) in Australia with the 4-bolt hitch. A professional car hauler said it was certified to 750kg (1650 lbs). He also said the SWB should not tow more regardless of hitch.
I have towed more with my '89, but very carefully.
