To my brothers and sisters in Canada, I mourn with you for the two soldiers lost to terrorsit attack, and with you, celebrate the bravery of the Parlimentary Sergeant at Arms who killed the second attacker, and the fine officers who killed the first.

My heart is with the families of the fallen. My curses on the souls of the perpetrators. May your courage not fail you after this incident, and I am confident it will not. Do not give up your freedoms in the pursuit of spurious safety. There is no safety short of total victory.

I must apologize for the moral cowardice displayed by our national leadership, which in all likelihood helped embolden the perpetrators and their incitors. We'll fix it, but it will take some time yet, another couple of years...

From reports it appears the shooter was more mental deviant than jihadist terrorist. He has a criminal record with wishes to be arrested and jailed.

As for the political opportunism I guess you'd agree with troops in the middle east for a 1000 years, because that's what it may would take to change a culture.

Somehow I remember the lies that got us there to begin with and the wasted lives and cash forfeit so that we need fight for their country and region yet again.

Need a Spot
All reports suggest the attacks were less politically motivated and just acts of mindless violence by mentally ill young men. If a true terrorist attack occurred in Canada we know we can count on the support of our friends to the south just as Canadians did for you on 9/11. I do agree however that using the attacks as fodder for political partisanship, such as our own PM has done to further his own conservative agenda is reprehensible.

^ This. No need to follow us into another decade of privatized democracy exports.

Sometimes I think it's a shame we can't just get in our trucks and drive to another planet where we can just start over. You ever notice how, being into cars and whatnot, geo-political and language borders seem to fade away? If only we could bottle that sense of goodwill and introduce it to the world's water supply...

Without delving into the politics and motivations of "people" who may or may not be chemically imbalanced, zealots, or extremists, I appreciate the sentiments above. It has been a tough week for us, but the world-wide support has been inspiring.

Support your troops and their families, whatever flag you fly. They enable you to choose. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

Yes I feel your pain ... Are President and his over the top progressiveness agenda is reprehensible ...Shocking how one man can 'think' we should all live in his world and his way ...Its to bad FDR ever became President ..We are still dealing with his progressiveness agenda in to melt down from 1940... Good to see are friends up north are OK ..And someone had a firearm to stop the crazys...

Sorry on your loss ....
