So if I could import a Pajero from the Philippines to the states with the diesel option which years should I look at? Yeah I got a wild idea.
Reason I ask next year I'm looking at a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the diesel but I might have more fun with Mitsu.
Thanks Rory

So If one of my co-workers wanted to bring from the Philippines to the states since they live here now with a late model , can it be done? Then I would buy it from them.

nope, can't be done. Needs to be 25 years old from the DAY of manufacture.

So If one of my co-workers wanted to bring from the Philippines to the states since they live here now with a late model , can it be done? Then I would buy it from them. Your co-worker can probably bring it in for 1 year, but have to take it out after that 1 year (not exactly sure about the time frame, but IIRC its 1 year) I'm sure there are fines that would go along with violating this rule. They can't sell it to you in the mean time. Sorry for the bad news.

Yup, has to be 1990 or earlier.
I know emissions are no longer required for my 88 in WA, so I'm pretty sure I can stick whatever I want under the hood now XD.

Yup, has to be 1990 or earlier. 25 years to the actual date of manufacture (not just model year) ie: built before 22 Sept 1990
