I only come on here for this section. If everyone here goes on there, I wont have a reason to ever come here again haha. As much as we might leave behind, I've lived without it so far due to how hard it is to search here and how many threads have gone dead with no images or dead links.
Hell it took me 3 days to get logged back in after this revamp because of the way this login system works (change of display name doesnt change actual username)

Actually, these posts are pretty douchey. So what happened that you feel the need to take the Wire down? How about, "Checkout Expedition Portal?" "There is another Mitsubishi site!" Both are viable sites. If you don't like it, leave. All the hits on your multiple hits build sheet are because the guys on this site built your rig. Expedition Portal is the new kid on the block (relatively) using different parameters. Will The Wire go the way of the BlackBerry? I hope not. Just let it go and leave.

I think lloyd was trying to encourage some of the guys to visit exportal, not necessarily abandon the wire. The only forum I visit on the wire is the az board. I don't bother with mitsubishi tech anymore as the questions are sooooooooo repetitive. And most of the time people are just popping in anymore with a question and then leave or move on. I, like most here, consider this my "home" forum. But I've heard tons of frustrations about this site being so out of date. Exportal is new and more user friendly. It also has people who actually go out and wheel there rigs and are willing to actually show up to a big wheeling event, which is something this site lacks heavily (minus us awesome az dudes and a few others, you know who you are). I'm all about talking up Monteros and seeing the builds, but it does me no good to see what they do without seeing the effects of off road handling. All in all, nobody has to make a change, if anything, continue to use this site, just expand upon your forum use and give exportal a look and use it a bit, maybe it will grow on you. I will continue to use both as pretty much everyone here does except for a couple of you.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHAT ABOUT BOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Expedition Portal is the new kid on the block (relatively) using different parameters. Will The Wire go the way of the BlackBerry? I hope not. Just let it go and leave. Either it hit a nerve with you or you read it wrong. Either way it seems more an issue of miscommunication than anyone being a 'douche' I'm usually the first to admit if I'm being a douche or call someone out for it. The wire has proven to be a great asset for many people over many years. The problem now is that all the good tech is buried, hard to search for, or broken images have made it useless. I'm talking in regards to newer users finding this stuff, not the seasoned folks we've had here forever, im sure you all know the lay of the land and can get what you need, but a group won't grow when new members can't acclimate quickly. That wouldn't be too big of an issue to fix except for how this site is set up; If you're not educated in how this platform works, its hard to get around. Expo uses a forum base like most other forums that are on the web now, so it's like the entire world moved to metric and we sit here using standard because it's what we've always done... Not hating on the wire, or it's existence, or saying expo is better. If you want to stay and camp out here on the wire, im sure you'll still have people to talk to as others drop in once in a while, but for many years i've been spreading the word about expo to new mitsu wheelers. I've been a forum user for almost 20 years now and the wire is the only forum that frustrates me when attempting to use it... Aside from Japanese Nostalgic car forums, but they just fixed that. Hope that explains it. I'll still pop in here to check on folks that refuse to move with the herd, so don't write me off so quickly

Yes, there are a lot of broken links for images. Images that are hosted on servers no longer on the internet. Yes, the ability to host images has been a lacking feature of the forums software. With the new version, adding images is possible in a couple of methods. One is through the Gallery forum. The other is an easier way to embed images within your posts. However, like other forums, the image is required to be accessible from the web. A lot of effort has gone into cleaning up the archive content to correctly display. http://www.4x4wire.com/mitsubishi brings up a wealth of the original content dating back to January 2000. And, the Google search at the top of every page does search the forums and portal content back to 2000. I have researched and fixed many broken links WHEN THEY ARE BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION. And, WRT to advertising, that is what keeps 4x4Wire on the internet --- advertising income.
