The diesel section is slacking off! Diesel is spelled wrong, too. Silly English language.
So, Jason Phillips, aka 87Monty, is building his Montero with a Cummins 4BT.
Was time for a new post.

Nice work! This side has been a source of guilt for me since I sold my last diesel. Cummins 4BT in a monty should be a riot! Is he going to do deliveries with it?

No, he says that it will be offroad only, no longer Cali road legal.

HI Guys, woo hoo its been a while. I have sized up everything and it will fit without cutting the firewall. the 4G64 was about 24" long the 4bt is 30.12" with trans adapter plate.

Oh yes I will be taking lots of pics for you guys. I'm very excited about going turbo diesel. I bought my dad's 2000 cummins 2500 4x4 2 years ago and absolutely fell in love. The power, torque and fuel mileage is just the start. Besides having a all mechanical setup and no computers to fuss with. Good size turbo, add fuel and watch the numbers go up.

This is really cool, can't wait for more content.
Non-related, I am about to do a turbo kit on a mercedes m606 diesel engine and 5 speed swap (95 e300 D). I've been wondering this whole time if this motor would squeeze into a Monty...probably too long.
