Hey guys! It's been a LONG time! thought i'd stop in and see whats happening. Still seeing a few familiar names in here still. 4runnernomore, your sportage is looking excellent!! Can I have your snorkel? Also wish I could have some AU clear front corner lenses. They aren't available in the USA. Everett still here I see My Sportage has come a long way also. Lift, cylinders bored 50 over, port/polished head and intake, and machined out the throttle body. bunch of here's and theres. Anyway.. HI EVERYONE!!
My Wild cat extractors, coated ready to be installed.
Now just need more fun tickets for the rest of the system.
Cheers, Chris
Ok, I want this. I know it's not going to be legal running it in the US unless I still have 2 cats. I think it will boost HP and torque regardless. I will run 2 generic hi flow cats after it and rewire so the O2 sensors can reach. Will wildcat sell it to me? Seen it on eBay Australia. If I order it, I will get it, right? It's $320 USD, that's why I ask. That's a little rich for me. And running 2 cats after, with the O2 sensors in the right places should get me smogged correctly, shouldn't it? Now, they don't normally check your tailpipe in TX, but, I just want to make sure I don't fail in case they do.

If no joy Genie Australia manufacture the wildcat brand. Try contacting them if you have no joy with the online guys.
I can't see why it wouldn't pass your EPA as it still has the 02 sensor position and running performance cats best of both worlds, legal and more horses.
Cheers, Chris
97 Sporty, snorkel, K&N filter, chipped, ext forks, 40mm Dob Springs, KYB struts, 35mm Jeep TJ Springs, RAV 4 OME shocks, Kaiser Locker 5.38 R&P's, 1&3/8 body lift, 245/75 R16 D674's Sports steering wheel, bullbar, extractors & 2 1/4 exhaust engineered.
Well, because mine is a 2000 model with the pre-cat. The first O2 sensor is after the pre-cat, so it's sensing exhaust that has been catalyzed once already. So, first things first, I'd have to cap that O2 sensor bung and put my first one in the exhaust pipe after my first hi-flow cat.

Been a busy couple of months. Had my Sporty off the road having a full cooling system replacement.
Whilst it was all pulled part I finally fitted my 1 3/8 body lift and new body mount rubbers. WHAT A MISSION this ended up been. I did not have enough thread exposed after fitting the body lift so had to order bolt extensions. These ended uP been slightly to long on the shank and I could not tighten uP properly so had to get some additional spacers made up. Will post pics up later.
I also still need to finalise the centre console mods to allow the transfer case lever to be able to shift into 4wd. It never ends.
Drove it home today from the BIL's place nearly all done. Car is drivable but Still have some more finishing bits to do to finalise the body lift. The rear bumper has been raised and installed properly. Pretty happy with the end result. Need to make some new brackets for the rear upper mugs guards and I am waiting on some new fittings to come in from the stealership. That should finish the rear.
I purchased a winch bulbar off runt 303 a while ago and tried to fit it up the other night. I don't know if he had some chassis mods done or there was a major difference between the front chassis Of the 97 to a post 2000 model with airbags but there was no way it would bolt up. So I am running with out a front bumper at the moment. Will need to see if I can get new brackets made up to fit the bar.
When I get some time I will be collating my experience into my other thread for the body lift on what needed to be done so others can learn and hopefully be better informed if they decide to complete a body lift.
Cheers, Chris

Hey Chris, first off, loving the build, looks good :-) Secondly, I'd love to know a bit more about your suspension lift and have a couple questions answered, would you maybe be able to pm me? Cheers, Desmond
