I like the center of spare backup light.

I've been considering doing the same thing for some time now, but with a brake light instead. On the 2-door, the spare tire is actually mounted on the tailgate, which opens to the side. There is a big plastic riser for the third brakelight so that it sits over top of the spare. I had to put spacers under the riser to make it clear the bigger spare, and it would be nice to eliminate it and regain a little more view out the back.

01 Convertible; Electric Fan; 3" Up Your Kia lift spacers; Tj 104's; 31x10.5x15's on Centerlines; Rear LSD.
GONE, all I have left are a few spare parts and the wheels.

The third brake light centered in the bore of the spare wheel is a test run. I used a DOT approved 4" round tractor light wedged between the wheel and the spare mounting bracket. I wired the light to a used 7 prong trailer hitch. Light only works when I plug it into the hitch.

I wanted to go the other route and have spot lights for back up lights in the 4" square reflector housing. But after extensive use of the Sporty in the snow. I opted against that. without mud flaps; the reflector area gets covered in snow. I'm still debating on how that area will turn out.

I use 5 dollar resistors in all my tail lights so they blink before I stop. Warning those behind to slow down on the Ice before they slide into me in the winter.

I really want better backup lighting though. But haven't decided yet.

Lights on the roof rack would seem like an easy option, but when it's snowing hard, all you see is snow fall. So I wanted to mount the backuplight lower to illuminate the trail and not the falling snow.

Tape on intake looks bad (just bein honest no offense), but it's purpose is worth it as long as it holds out the water. I like how you used your trunk access and took off the hatch to use it for more room. We should scheme up a swivel hinge for the O.E. panel so you can close it and reopen it. wouldn't be hard at all =)

I don't know why the pics look different for some. When I view them, they are normal. I thought about hinging the floor, but with the way the carpet is and the recess in the floor, it opens and closes the same as it would if it had hinges. The old cover showed how weak it was when I put a keg of beer in there, so I made one out of plywood. Way better. The floor spot holds a lot of stuff. I removed the factory jack since I have a hi-lift and steel bumpers. It hold an air compressor, jumper cables, shackles, tire plug kit, lug wrench, ratcheting straps, bungee cords, and the base for the hi-lift and still has room. The duct tape on the intake does look bad, but was one of those temporary fixes that worked too well, so I haven't given it much thought. I can say, I know for sure the snorkel works!

Put on some Firestone Destination M/T 31x10.5. Broke the front left hub, dented the rear right door on tree, and broke the rear roof rack bar. Still made it through a lot of stuff in rear drive only. Wish I had limited slip or something in both front and rear.

DUDE!! Lovin that sportage Hambodian! Lights and rack on top with the lift and wheels does it well. And rep'n Tacoma, nice! I'm over in Idaho. Seeing more and more sportages around in the NW on here. Thinking next summer maybe we'll have enough for a decent trail meet. Although, I've never done one. And I've been mostly a pavement pounder, would love to get some mild trailin under my belt. I typically go for the deep snow when we get it. Easier to clean up than mud. and doesn't fill the chassis/ wire harnesses like mud does. Maybe a winter meet haha!

Just finished the rear shock relocation and homemade coil retainers. I'm running 31x10.50x15 kenda klever mudder's at 15psi out back and 20psi up front. The shock relocation easily doubled my flex. What do you fellas think?
