Well, had the rear main engine seal installed together with the oil pan gasket, now the tranny will not shift into 4th. Jacob, the mechanic determined that the removal of the tranny caused the overdrive solenoid to get damaged in the process. The solenoid part number: MR111917 old/ MD609445 new. I am having a bit of a hard time locating one. Found that www.lovemitsubishiparts.com might have it but have to wait till Monday. In the meantime I keep searching the web. Javy

Try taking it to a Toy or Jeep dealer for an eyeball match to what goes on the Aisin Warner version they use. Toy late 80's 4runner pickup had one for sure. Many 6cyl and v8 heeps. Try an interchange parts search on car-part.com and use 87 to 91 montero raider.

Thanks Eddy, I went to Rockauto and they have a the control solenoid and they call it for the KM148-6 or AW372L.
As per the description from Rockauto:
ATP NE16
FitsAutomatic trans.; Trans. code AW372L; 3 ohm PWM Lock-up OrAutomatic trans.; Trans. code KM148-6; 3 ohm PWM Lock-up
and
ATP NE18 FitsAutomatic trans.; Trans. code AW372L; 3 ohm EPC, PWM Lock-up OrAutomatic trans.; Trans. code KM148-6; 3 ohm EPC, PWM Lock-up
What is the difference between EPC and non EPC? everything looks the same as well as the vehicles list that can use the part.
My tranny plate ID says I have a V4AW2

According to Roadkill customs I found the is: Model MITSUBISHI MONTERO 2.6L L4 - 3.0L V6 (4X4) Years: 1990-5/94 Transmission: AW372L (A44DL) Model: MITSUBISHI VAN/WAGON 2.4L L4 Years: 1987-90 Transmission: AW372L (A44DL) Still it doesn't answer my question on the EPC and non-EPC solenoid model. Guys, the part is obsolete from Mitsubishi. Will have to hit the local yards and these are kind of hard to find at the local Atlanta yards. There are two 1997 GEN IIs 3.5L but I am not sure it will be the same as these might be computer controlled.
If any of you come across one please let me know.
