Any good brake booster upgrades for a gen1 4 cylinder? The pads and shoes seem to never wear out so I think I can just give it more clamping power. Simplest thing I think is a bigger, more powerful booster. I'm hoping for a bolt-in from a newer truck. I also found Navajo aftermarket booster but it normally only comes in kits for Jeep and big-three US cars. I'm open to any options and ideas but I'm trying the simplest, easiest things first.

Several of the guys on the Mighty Max pages are using the Eclipse Gen 1 dual diaphragm booster.

You may also consider leaving the dinky 4-cyl rotors and calipers behind in favor of pieces from Gen 2 Montero or Montero Sport with 15" wheels, in addition to the booster upgrade.

Excellent! Do you happen to know if I need to use the eclipse master cylinder? A '96 SR rear axle is on the list and I'll upgrade the fronts at that time. I got very good at down-shifting but it's not my daily driver any more so I forget the brakes are terrible when I hop in. I'm getting new tires this week and maybe I'll go the distance and upgrade the booster.
