I've heard most folks buy whole new arm. I've got OEM bushings and don't know the method other than "use Mitsu special tool number..." To make situation more difficult I bought some Siberian Bushings andthey have a squared lip making t look even more dificult to install. The Siberian brand is a non squeeky kind of Urethane. The rear trailing arm were easy o do and I have confidence they won't dry out and shrink any time soon. One of the plugs fell out of my left T'bar mount. I think they were pressed in. Do you think sleeve retainer would hold? or spot weld it?

I'm about completed on Bushing job. The Siberian Bushings were easier than I thought it would be. Lower arm front bushing went in useing big C clamp. LCA to frame went in useing long bolt, varius washers and a piece of pipe. UCA went in useing a bench mounted wood vice. The hard part was removal of old bushings. Drillin rubber- make sure your bit is not set too long as it can grab and mess up washers on Gen 2 UCA. The UCA Siberian Bushings are very elastic/ flexable. I was surprized how much they compressed and flared out when cranking down on the big washers on the Gen 2 UCAs. I'm pleased with how the Siberians went in, and I've never been a fan of urethane, but now I think I'm on board.

Hey Dave, Thanks for the info! Replacing bushings is close to next on my list for my GEN1. I’d be interested in how it went for you as I wasn’t sure if I could complete in a weekend.

This is way more than a over the weekend job, esp. if you haven't done it before. Most time consumed is removing old bushing out of frame. My truck has been in CA most of its life so no rust to deal with. I recently picked up a 2nd car and I'm retired so I can go on wild goose chases for forgotten parts and unusual tools, etc.

I have to take back something said above,,, I took the big Gen 2 washers off and just used the washers that came installed under the lip in the Siberian bushings. There are 2 different bushings available for Gen 2, one with metal sleeve, one without. I'm not sure if the without model comes with washers.. I still haven't finished this job, old age really slowing me down. I'm not sure of proper torquing of UCAs as I can get a torque wrench on because steering box sits too close to front of UCA. Maybe I'm over thinking it. Give me more time anyways, as I found a local shop to make a rear adjustable Panhard bar for me to correct for my Gen 2 into Gen 1 modifications.
