I've had good use from KYB Gas-A-Justs on several Montero and other platforms. For my 1-ton Dodge, I used Rancho RS9000s and wasted my $$ because it just needed regular gas shocks.

Others have been using Bilstein. Have no experience with Tokico, but is OE.

I installed a set of Tokico’s on my 89 LWB. They were stiff at first, but settled in after first 500mi. I have been pleased with them.
