Need a Spot
Hello all,

New member here. It’s finally become time to rebuild my 1990 montero. Unfortunately 1st gen trucks are hard to find around my area so I picked up some parts off a 1992 Monty. I have two questions
1. Will a 2nd gen montero fuel tank work as a direct swap for the first gen fuel tank?
2. Do the bolt holes for the ancillary engine components match up for a 1990 and 1992 engines. Like can I put my 1990 alternator mount and stuff on a 92 block

1. there are a few different gen 1 fuel tank variants depending on year, engine, wheel base, etc.... Ive never heard of a gen 2 swap and would be really surprised if it just bolts right up with no mods.

2. it's a 6G7x block so they should. heads will be different between gens so you might need to swap those as well.
