You need to get an FSM, if you are ever going to go eye-balls deep into working on it. I don't have one for the 97s. Grab the 98 as there won't be major diffs between years for the 3.5 SOHC. Maybe grab the 96s too, as the 97s had both the flattys and the SR flared versions. (The 94-96 had the same LS vs SR exterior differences, and with different engines. The 97s had the same 3.5 SOHC.)

Also, I have a modest box of the small behind-dash bulbs if you need any. If you have a U-Pull junk yards near you, same era Mitsus of any model should get you lots of little bits.

Hey thanks for the offer, I actually just got all the bulbs I needed in from rock auto. And I did splurge on the 97 service manuals from eBay. The physical ones are so much nicer to use than the pdf copies out there.

I took it to Wheeler Pass on a 150mile trip to Pahrump, NV and back this weekend. Its a pretty easy but long (25mi maybe) trail up to 7500ft. Was nice to get some dirt under the tires but I’d be lying if I wasn’t nervous and paranoid about every noise I heard. Truck ran good, transfer case shifted and the appropriate lights lit up. The issues I had were a smell of fuel I noticed right after the steepest part of the trail (had me paranoid as hell and I checked everywhere for leaks but didn’t see anything). And my oil pressure gauge is pretty much touching 0psi at warm idle. 30 while cruising. Got a mechanical gauge that I’m gonna check with. It’s been reading low like that since I bought it, I cut open the old oil filter after 1500+miles and didn’t see any metal.

Sorry to hear you flew 1000 miles to pick up your monty. I had not listed mine yet! Mine is a 1997 ls with 1995 axles and locker. 190k miles body is worse than yours but probably most of my electrical is still working just fine. I am selling because I needed a rig that can pull bigger trailers.

Dang! Haha. Would be nice to have the gear ratio of the 1995 axles. How much do you think your rig is worth? I paid 2500
