Presuming not every Montero has had the front axle changed to manual hubs. I have seen many people go about eliminating the electro - pneumatic disconnect in ways I consider above and beyond what is needed.
Those that know me know I walk a different path, and do things far beyond what is considered "simple"
So here is how I do the axle disconnect delete. Sorry for the shadows in the close shots, I could not get the camera where it needed to be.
I simply use a spring retained with the rollpin to keep the axle engaged. Then cover this up with the bellows or a piece of hose.

And for those that recognize the first shot is a Gen 3, Yes I have built one with selectable hubs. That is not simple.
