a few PM items. Pulled off the Wild Peaks and put on my '92 in July. Very quiet on that truck - guess that is the difference with frame on construction. Replaced with Bridgestone Duelers that were used and on a set of FJ 17" steelies that I've been looking for to use on my '92. I replaced brake rotors and pads at 113k then drove to Maine and upstate New York for a little vacation. 3200 miles in 8 days. 18.2 mpg average. Had been throwing a code for about a year and needed emissions checked this month for state license so replaced 4 O2 sensors on Saturday - used Denso. Cleared codes and emissions passed. 117k miles.
Still searching for tires before the snow flies.

Were you getting evap-emissions-small leak? (Can't remember no., p0042 maybe?) No. It was a CAT bank 2 code or similar, P0430 code. CATs usually don't go bad unless the vehicle is burning oil (no), really bad injectors and running very rich (fuel mileage has been stable) or using leaded gas (very doubtful). I checked the pipe temp in front of and after each CAT and noted it was always hotter on exit - so the CAT is working. So went after the O2s. Probably was only 1, but being I was laying under the truck why not replace all 4! Invaluable tool is a crows foot style O2 socket - used on 3 of them, and long 22mm combination wrench - used on the DS upper - bugger to get to. Probably took the most time was getting the connectors apart on the 2 sensor wires that are in the transmission tunnel sorta above the transmission not much room there for my hands. I sprayed the sensors well with AeroKroil about an hour before hand. Bought from RockAuto $165 shipped for all 4 including the crows foot.

poor updates here. Put 235/85R16 BFG A/T TA KOs on the truck 2 years back along with a set of '02 wheels. Didn't like them at all on this truck from day 1. This tire size is way to narrow for an '05. Drove them for about 2 years 29K miles - couldn't wait to replace. Switched over to 285/75R16 BFG A/T TA KO2 - what a great tire. Truck rides and handles excellent, glued to the road, quieter than the KOs and maybe even quieter than the old Bridgestone H/T touring tires. Also swapped on a set of 20th anniversary wheels. In the process also put on KYB Gas-A-Just shocks and OME medium springs on all 4 corners. 2x lower ball joints (MOOG), 2x Upper ball joints (MOOG), 2x outer tie rod ends (MOOG), rear control arm bushings (Mitsubishi) and 4 new alignment bolt sets - impossible to remove the old ones without destroying. 146K on the clock.

I have not even been near any of these new breed of Mitsues, nearest dealer is hours away so they are a mix of not common as well as the surprise of even seeing a Tri-diamond on the front of something. Heck I am building with a 2008 Eclipse engine but never have seen one of the cars up close.
