Monte3, GET WELL SOON! The Sibley Mansion is badly in need of crown molding and assorted finish carpentry.

Lloyd, if we're only two hours closer to Death Valley than you are, I will NEVER ride with you. Last I checked, we are an entire state closer than you, and the state ain't Rhode Island. And would you please spell my name John instead of Jhon for once!?

LT, get that roll bar. If you don't, it may show up in your Christmas stocking anyway. You need it more than anyone on this board, so please go get it, and tie it into the frame with welds. It will make us all feel better.

I picked up more camping/wheeling tidbit goodies today. I got a cheap-ass set of driving lights to bolt on the bumper of the Type-R for the nighttime journey to camp on Friday. The have H3 halogen bulbs, so they will be bright and I don't care if they last or not. I'm already pre-wired and pre-drilled for them so it won't be a big deal to finish it off. I got a Coleman jump-start thingy at Checker auto for $30 on sale. It's small, but the primary use is for powering my spotlight, inflating my air mattress and running my inverter with light loads. It has a car charger as well as a house charger so I can recharge while driving on the trail. I also got a $20 fluorescent lantern because I keep breaking the globe on my propane lantern. And I replaced the cheap-ass compressor to re-inflate the truck tires to marginal highway pressures after off-road runs. I bought the heavier-duty one that is a bit quicker, but still is no Quick-Air quality, by any means. I found out the old really small one I had was toast on the last Sibley run and have been toting around the bulky tank for awhile now, so I thought I'd save some space with a trade-off for having to wait some time for the thing to work. I'm set!

Good luck on the surgery, Paul! We're counting on you to show off your gen2 on the trail at future runs.

Jhon .. sounds like you're getting quite the setup! I'm aching to go... damn the timing!

Paul hope all goes well with the surgery and recovery. It will be good to see you walk upright instead of cracked over sideways.

I have to go pick up s few things before the journey to the hills. I have already installed the lights last weekend. I need to drill another hole in the light bar because the lights are resting against the grill.

LT called me last night for directions to the salvadge yard with the roll bar. It was pretty far from my place in Scottsdale. He's going to have to carry provisions for that trip. He can make a day of it. I think there are some hotels in the town of Maricopa he can stay and make the trip back the next day.

Jhon, you have to remember you are 2hrs further to the south, and have to negotiate big city traffic. I live on I40 on the edge of town, but am 2hrs further west to Flagstaff then you. Now if you lived in Flagstaff or Kingman, you would have alot longer head start on me. Did I spell your name Jhon again? Sorry John!

It would not be the same with out all the guys.
However, there would be more beer for us!

Okay, how come "mother hen" feels it necessary to spank our midwestern butt cheeks for talking about drinking beer, but says nothing about it to you guys?

Double-standard?!

Could be that we are speaking specifically about drinking beer after the fact, when we are standing around the campfire, keys out of ignitions, wheels chocked, coil wires pulled, etc. This trail, especially, demands full attention from a capable driver and crew. Or, put another way, one wrong move and your truck could be crushed and you may die. Other than that, he may not have wanted to try to keep up with reading a seven page thread. Did I also mention that I camp with a chainsaw AND firearms? The 'saw I actually use, though. No worries, guys, nothin' to fear but fear itself. And the occasional bear. And lots of drunk hillbillies on ATV's, looking to exploit the apparent weaknesses of others and rip off mining claims, etc. (The preceding rant has been greatly exaggerated by JohnnyB, and should not be reproduced or retransmitted without the expressed written consent of Major League Baseball - - GO CUBS!)

Are you serious? You can drive the heck out of your iron, Mendel. Parts is what you need. Like 33's. And a front LSD. And a rear locker. And a winch. And a supercharger. And a roof rack. And lots of lights. And a rear winch. And rock sliders. And a body lift. And more lights. And a refrigerator. Come to think of it, all that would have been cheaper than that silly pool you put in. Where are your priorities, man?

So, are you in or what?

Looks like I'm out for this weekend. If you guys could postpone for two weeks, I would be in. This weekend just doesn't work out for me. Sorry guys. I really would like to go to Sibley again though. Speaking of parts, I am seriously considering getting a set of 33s to go along with the front LSD. Anybody have connections for getting a really good deal on a set of 33" mudders and some wheels to fit them?
