If your talking about the intake gasket just get some gasket material and make a new one, other than that you will need to go to the dealer, no one wants to do that. Dennis

Are NGK plugs ok to use, or is there a preferred brand I should be installing?

I can't get the part numbers to bring up anything on the kia parts site. Is there a space somewhere that is missing? I think I recall having troubles getting anything to display when I failed to fill in all of the input fields (# of doors, EX? etc.) If you still have trouble make sure you filled everything in... leadbelly

Did you find a blown spark plug? Cause mine is doing this and I think that is what we found.

Roll Me Over

Just changed the plugs today (and V-cover gasket)....used 4 spark Bosch.....They now sell them all covered with paper, and gap set was always supposedley pre-set! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
*dot not touch this pre-set gap*
....like I had done before <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />
Engine idles perfect and I would not change a thing.
The reason that these plugs did not work for me before is prolly cause I tried to put the gap back to what we all are supposed to have.
Just don't touch them (except to put anti-sieze) on them!
Good luck... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Any recommendation on a specific brand? (I saw Denso for $24 and Karlyn for $51 or any other...) Thanks, Lior

If yours is a DOHC all you need is 2 wires, The factory Kia wires are about all I've found. You didn't say what year Sportage you had.
