I got the 4.88 gears and master installs for $468. I also requested a lockright they gave it to me for $239. The total with shipping was $748.39 .

I am concidering getting a true trac for the front. How do people like them? Would I better off getting a aussie locker for the front? The only thing I am worried about is breaking birfs that's why Iam concidering a true trac. I know with a front mech locker you can break birfs alot easier.

TrueTrac is better than a selectable for 90% of the situations you run into, for the simple reason that it will interfere less with your steering. But it isn't enough of a help IMHO to bother with, for the cost. Go with a selectable locker. Save up for it.

Ok I sort of understand but still isn't having a LSD better than having open front? I know a locker will lock both wheels and if one is in the air the other will turn too.
You still have the issues of possibly grenading a birf when you have a selectable locker locked up in the front though.
A LSD you don't have that issue I believe right? How does the aussie locker compare to other mechanicals? Do you stand as much as a chance on fragging stuff with them too?
Never mind...

Oh well too late:

I have never ran a tru-trak in a live axle but I ran one on the IFS and Ibroke one PS stub shaft and one half shaft CV, both times I was steping on the brake and gas at the same time to fool the LSD into locking up both sides. I also know guys that blew birfs with an open front end, so it can happen no matter what you have. I blew one backing up in camp with the front locker turned off!!! They are just like people, when it is your time to go, you go!!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />
