I don't know anything about power door locks. I would imagine you could pull the correct fuse and use the key until you find a fix. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I took off the driver's door panel, unbolted the lock actuator and unscrewed it a few turns, lengthening the push-rod. This at least partially solved the problem. Other people have said there's a stopper or something inside the motor that breaks or wears out, but I didn't see anything like that. 95 SR

The problem is more than likely in the doorlock switch that's built into the doorlock actuator (not the main switch). If you notice, when you push down on the drivers door lock stub close to the B Pillar, it will lock all of the doors. That's because there's a built in switch at the actuator inside the door panel. When you unlock the door, the failure in the switch will detect as if someone has pressed on the stub- causing it the relock the doors. This usually happens when you unlock the door using the main switch or keyless entry fob but seems to be okay when you physically unlock the door by pulling up on the stub. Sometimes you can fix the problem by removing the door panel and screwing the stub deeper into the rod- thus allowing more throw from the actuator in the unlock position. This extended throw will move the built in switch inside the door further away from "command lock" position just enough to remedy the problem (more than likely a temporary fix). I've found than some of the customers that i do this do will eventually come back several months later to have the actuator replaced. Good luck!

Mine does that too, but if I just press the unlock button very briefly, it leaves them unlocked. When I installed my aftermarket keyless entry and tapped into the two power lock wires, the system worked fine without the spastic auto locking. try to see if they stay unlocked if pressing the unlock button briefly. Sometimes I swear that its like a feature to just lock the doors by hitting either button and holding it down. Or maybe there is something wrong, but the reason I don't think there is is b/c when i don't hold it down very long, they stay unlocked, its only when I hold the unlock button that they lock again.
