Cool truck man, I bought my 94 150k miles for 400 less than what you paid. How many miles and do you know what as been done as far as service? And if you think you have a head gasket problem call up your local Toyota Dealer and ask if your truck has been repaired through toyota due to the head gasket recall. You will need your vin.

my truck is at 212,000 miles, the previouse owner has the top end done, valve, head, timing belts about 11,000 miles ago but the bottom block has not been done yet, it has some rust on it so I think I need to replace that since that is the cause of the head gasket problem, I heard toyota already ended the campaign last year so guess I'm tolate for that... so how much if I be replacing the block? include labor, so I need a block that will replace the one they recall the HG.. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Re: your poll. I like the engine and interior of the new runners but dislike the styling and bloat - so I bought a used 2002. The body is just perfect IMO. in the distant past, I owned a 1991 runner.

Are you SURE that your Headgasket is blown? Sure it isn't your valvecovers? And if your going to replace the engine, swap in a 3.4! 3.0: 150 HP 180 lbs of torque 3.4: 190HP 220 lbs of torque And you can get a 3.4 for a little more then a 3.0 Takes a *little* more time, but hey, if your gonna get a new engine, might as well get a bigger and better one while your at it! -Dano-

They have all of the hardware, wireing harnesses, ect.. that you need. Not sure how much a shop would do it for, but it does bolt right up to the 3,0 Transmission.

Coyotekid, I believe you're thinking of Off Road Solutions. The kits say that the A/T 3.4 swap is doable but you have to use the A/T and t/c from the donor 3.4 vehicle. Also, the kits available at ORS are about $500-650 more for an auto vs. manual. After re-reading your question, I guess what I really mean is no- your existing A/T will not work. just a quick question on my 4runner. Just found a 2cm crack in the fron axle passengers side next to the fixed mounting bracket. would the best option be to weld it or replace??
also im having problems with a constant grinding noise everytime I turn left or right, anyone know what could cause this and how to fix?? first thought the joints needed replacing but it seems they r ok..
