im thinking about grabbing the brake booster and master cylinder from my buddy's spare 94 v6 4runner but im not sure if it is a direct bolt in or not. it has abs so im not quite sure if itll work for my truck. is there any wire splicing involved?

It should work just fine; you may need to splice in the brake fluid level sensor.

Ok, here's kind of a reverse question. I have a 92 v6 pickup with a failed brake booster. Would a 1987 4x4 4RUNNER (22r engine) brake booster be the same as my 92 v6, 4x4 pickup?
I saw a good deal for one on the net.

I'm not a brake master by any means. But, (don't quote me on this) I think your V6 booster may be a dual diaphram, the other a single. Here you go, some yards that can deliver for not too much. I should also state that I DO NOT push car-part for personal gain for those that may wonder. But, it is where I bought my used 22RE (for $300, delivered to Phoenix from Texas for $125), My buddy's E-Locker for his '94 ($200, delivered from Penns. to Phoenix for $30, from a 2000 4Runner!), and both my 4.88 diffs ($125 each delivered for $25. 1 from Omaha, 1 from Iowa) The money I saved for what "could have" been originally spent goes to other things, like lockers, and Marlin 4.7 gears, and twin sticks

The '87 and earlier most likely had the smaller master and booster. The '88 and later most likely had the bigger master and booster. Swapping parts will change your brake power and feel for better or worse, depending on which parts you use. Here is some related info: http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/4runner/brakes/#Basics

k, thanks y'all I will probably end up getting it through car-parts.com (rather than waiting on ebay and having somebody charge like 80 bucks or something)
Yea, I'm getting tired of not having brakes on a cold morning. (the brake pedal will finally have power a few minutes into driving, just as I'm pulling into my work office.)
