How common is the OEM maroon interior? #731457 06/15/06 03:54 PM

Hello,

I've got a buddy who's debating parting out his '87 2wd extra-cab pickup. The interior is in pretty nice shape and has the SR-5 buckets, gauge cluster, etc.... I've parted out a few trucks in my day, but they've all had the much more common brown, gray, or blue interiors. This truck in question has the factory maroon interior, and quite frankly I've never seen one before besides his. I'm trying to gauge what demand there would even be for maroon interior parts.

Mine is. I'd like those pieces of plastic that go up to the roof...the seat belt bolts to the wall thru 'em. Don't know what they are called...

If Mad Max had a 4runner...

It might not be common in a truck but in a 4Runner it's not that rare. But I'm sure it would be easy to find buyers for those parts. The maroon tends to fade due to the sun more than the gray, blue or brown. I know, I have a red 4Runner with the maroon interior.

Ditto, my 87' 4Runner had maroon interior....which turned pink! Plastic Fusion comes in a Burgendy that is a real close match, so its not pink anymore. Nice thing about them plastic fusion paints....can by any color replacement parts and match them to your existing color scheme no problem.

Very true about the fading. Although in his interior, the only bright pink is the center console lower section. The rest looks normal.... I thought the infamous fading of the plastic interior door opener latches was bad on all color of interiors, but this was quite an intense Barbie pink.
